Teacher / Assessor – Business (China)

Our client is currently seeking a Business Teacher/s in China.

They are looking for 1-year contracts as a minimum but may be flexible for the right candidate.

The Company
An Australian Registered Training Organisation focused on the delivery of Australian standard vocational education programs to high school students in China. They have offices located in Shanghai, China and Perth, Western Australia. Their vision is to be the most effective and innovative international education partner in China, focused on practical outcomes and pathways for students. Their programs are:
  • comprised of an integrated English and Certificate IV in Business program
  • delivered via the online learning platform Canvas (where possible)
  • delivered within established partner high schools and training centres around China
  • delivered wholly in English
  • designed and delivered to students aged 15 – 18 years old
  • class sizes of approximately 25 students
  • delivered over three (3) school years
  • designed to prepare students for the modern workplace or successful entry into University study in Australia
Business Teacher
  • deliver the developed Business curriculum in English, at Certificate IV level and support students undertaking work experience and assist students in developing well-grounded business skills
  • prepare training in English; utilising and amplifying developed curriculum materials (including delivery plans)
  • participate as directed by the General Manager in validation activities
  • contribute to continuous improvement and compliance requirements as a Registered Training Organisation
  • adapt training to reflect the needs of specific students and the progress of their class(es)
  • provide a quality learning experience within a compliance framework that meets the Standards for Registered Training Organisations
  • deliver training in English using participative, interactive methodologies
  • assess outcomes achieved by students in Business (and English if qualified)
Selection Criteria

Business Teacher
  • business qualifications and experience
  • Australian training qualifications – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116)
    or equivalent
  • demonstrated experience delivering competency-based content for Business
  • demonstrated experience delivering learning content for English as a second language
  • demonstrated ability to design learning content which optimises student engagement
    and participation
  • demonstrated ability to contextualise learning content to specific cultural and business
  • demonstrated ability to assess competency holistically incorporating
    assessment of several elements within a realistic workplace scenario
  • recent relevant business experience
  • high-level communication skills and capacity to work in a team to produce defined
  • demonstrated ability to work to deadlines and resolve issues in a timely way
  • passion and enthusiasm for working and living in China
  • strong understanding of Chinese culture or willingness to learn through education and
  • Working with Children clearance, as required
  • AFP National Criminal Check clearance (as required for visa processing)
  • be in possession of or have access to all original documents required for the lodgement
    of a Z-Class visa or the transfer of work permit and residence permit
  • Diploma of Business (BSB50215) or Certificate IV in Business (BSB40115)
  • recognised TESOL qualification or be willing to undertake training to gain a TESOL
  • qualifications in education
  • Diploma in Training and Assessment (TAE50111)
  • Diploma in Training Design and Development (TAE50211)
  • experience in the delivery of vocational education Certificate courses in Written and Spoken
  • experience in training Chinese students and/or the ability to speak Mandarin will be
    highly regarded
  • international teaching experience
