Our client is one of Australia’s most progressive Registered Training Organisations (RTO) with a specialisation in Business, Administration, Medical Practice, Project Management and Public Sector courses. Our client has an emphasis on practical, industry-specific courses which can be applied directly to the workplace.
The Learning Designer role involves being responsible for the design, development and production of allocated courses and associated instructional material. It will involve liaising with several internal and external stakeholders.
The Learning Designer position is a fixed-term contract until June 2022. This is a 100% work from home opportunity. The annual salary is $90,000 pro rata plus superannuation.
Key responsibilities will include;
Authoring and/or updating compliant learning and assessment resources for units of competency from training.gov.au (mostly at Diploma level but may include Certificate III – Advanced Diploma qualifications).
Utilise contemporary instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles to develop high-quality courses, qualifications, training programs or bespoke learning solutions in line with established and emerging best practices.
Provide ongoing advice and support to staff, trainers, facilitators and academic program directors in relation to the design, management, use and evaluation of new and emerging technologies in learning, training and assessment.
Review, Revise and update learning and assessment resources to ensure they meet training package requirements.
Update the format of print documents using Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Building and maintaining relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders to consult, influence and negotiate learning design and technology issues.
Exchange information to stakeholders to support the development of learning design and technology.
Qualifications and Essential Criteria
Relevant tertiary degree in adult education, instructional design or learning technologies
Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or Diploma of Training Design and Development
Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a long-term Visa which permits full-time work.
May be subject to National Police Check / NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)
The ideal candidate will have;
Demonstrable experience in translating training or learning design into relevant content;
Experience in creating instructional videos, infographics, user guides in various digital formats for a technology or system implementation
Learning Management Systems (LMS) experience, such as Blackboard, Moodle, Desire2Learn (D2L) and Canvas
High-level proficiency within Microsoft Word, especially in regard to managing format, working within templates and visual layout
Strong working knowledge of digital user experience principles, and adult learning principles and outcomes
Well-developed communication, interpersonal and consultation skills with a demonstrated capacity to work effectively and collaboratively in a team-based environment
Strong planning and organising skills to effectively work tasks and projects to ensure priorities are completed within time and on budget
